FAJRO 2026

Manila — December 5, 2026

About FAJRO

FAJRO (literally in Esperanto: “fire”) is the largest annual gathering of Esperanto speakers and learners in the Philippines. It is the abbreviation of Filipina Junulara Renkontiĝo (“Philippine Youth Meetup”).

The tradition started in 2024 to reunite the Philippine Esperanto community after years of being unable to see each other physically during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When and where the first two FAJRO happened before:

  • 1st FAJRO: August 10, 2024 (Quezon City)
  • 2nd FAJRO: August 22-24, 2025 (Lian, Batangas)

Why participate in FAJRO 2026

Many celebrations in one

This year’s FAJRO is special since we’re celebrating L.L. Zamenhof’s 167th birth anniversary (December 15), traditionally known as the Zamenhof Day. At the same time, we also aim to celebrate the annual festivities in the Philippines at the end of the year.

Open to everyone

FAJRO 2026 welcomes everyone: even beginners to the Esperanto world are invited to take part in our activities. Esperanto proficiency is not required, although this event is a great opportunity to learn and practice. Feel free to join and invite everyone who you think are or might be interested in learning Esperanto.
